KEEP THE LIGHTS ON

Dorothy Parker was legendarily bad with money. The minute she had it, she spent it. Moreover, she trailed a long line of creditors behind her, including the owner of the Algonquin hotel. They should have paid her for all the publicity she generated for them! Or so she reasoned. When she died in 1967, her entire estate was worth about $20,000  (about $160,000 in todayโ€™s dollars).

We (the two Rebeccas) are committed to keeping DPA afloat for as long as possible while spending as little as possible. We donโ€™t get paid, our writers donโ€™t get paid, but we have expenses! Mostly, we have to throw money at people to run the technical aspects of the site because we are absolutely hopeless in that department. So if you are inclined to donate, please do!
